Only Believe and You Will Receive?!?

10 Dec

Are you believing God for some things? God has given us the indwelling Holy Spirit, and we have all the power that raised Jesus from the dead working in us. (Romans 8:11). Something incredible is a reality for believers, and it is this: We can and will have what we have the faith to believe. It is ours!

Matthew 9:29 says, “Then He touched their eyes, saying, ‘According to your faith let it be to you’” (The two blind men received sight!)

Matthew 8:13 says, “Then Jesus said to the centurion, ‘Go your way; and as you have believed, so let it be done for you.’ And his servant was healed that same hour.”

Matthew 15:28 says, “Then Jesus answered and said to her, ‘O woman, great is your faith! Let it be to you as you desire’ And her daughter was healed from that very hour.”

So, I put this promise to the test. When I lost my health insurance coverage 11 years ago, I didn’t sweat it. I simply prayed, “Lord, you are now my health insurance. I am going to trust you that I will not have a need for a doctor or hospital until the day comes when I again have needed coverage.” (I guess I didn’t have the faith to believe I would never need a doctor!) But guess what! I did not need a doctor at all (other than treatments for a work injury, which I wasn’t including in that prayer) for ten years. At the 10-year point, I had coverage and was able to pay for the treatment of a raging sinus infection.

Working at home and writing full-time as a freelance writer, I have been living the dream since 2010. I am believing that God will bless me to do an excellent job of writing the books he has given me inspiration for. That’s the next big thing other than praying more and more for family members, friends, and the needs of anyone anywhere as God puts it on my heart.

This type of faith that comes from believing doesn’t happen automatically. It is essential to read the Word of God and learn about God and his ways. “Faith comes from hearing and hearing by the word of God,” it says in Romans 10:17. So, if you want the blessing of receiving whatever you have faith to believe, make the coming year a time of soaking up the Word of God every day. Then watch and see what God will do!
